A WOMAN was attacked by a dog in Basildon.

Essex Police have launched a witness appeal after the woman was injured in Felmores.

The incident took place just after 7am in the morning.

It was reported a woman in her 30s was walking in the park when a large dog with shaggy hair began to chase her.

The dog was part of a group of four who were not on leads.

It ran after her knocking her down and caused a large scratch on her leg.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We would like to speak to two people who are thought to have been walking the dogs.

"They have been described as a man and woman in their 70s."

The incident took place on Monday August 3.

If anyone saw what happened or believe this might have been their dog, they are advised to call the Basildon Local Policing Team on 101.
