A LORRY caught fire at the side of a road in Aveley.
The fire broke out just before 12am this morning on Sandy Lane, and five fire engines were sent to the scene.
The lorry caught fire at the junction with the A1306 at Wennington.
The fire service advised those who live in the area to keep their windows and doors closed during the incident.
The lorry's refrigerated trailer was on fire and crews from the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service worked to extinguish the flames along with a crew from the London Fire Brigade.
