Thiefs, dangerous drivers and drug users have been named and prosecuted in the courts.

Here is a round-up of some of the defendants who were fined in court for a range of offences.

The hearings range from stealing booze to speeding to possession of drugs.

SONNY EVANS

Ages 19 of 18 Southview Road, Vange, was found in possession a quantity of cannabis and fined a total of £321.00.

BARRY FREEMAN

Aged 47 of The Broadway, Wickford drove a Peugeot 206 in Golden Jubilee Way, Wickford over the drink drive limit. He had 62 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath and was fined £820.00.

GARY DELANEY

Aged 33 of Winifred Road, Basildon was handed a fine of £60 after failing to comply with community order after driving while disqualified, while over the drink drive limit. He failed to two unpaid work sessions in December 2019 and 22 December 2019. The court heard how the absences were deemed unacceptable as no explanation or evidence has been offered to date.

DANIELLE JOHNSON

Aged 38 of Hovefields Caravan Site, Courtauld Road, Basildon stole a bottle of bourbon, to the value of £43, belonging to Waitrose, Billericay and was fined £82.00

KIM THOMAS

Aged 62 of Rose Acre, Basildon appeared in court after driving Nissan X-Trail in Basildon while over the drink drive limit, with 235 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. He admitted the offence and was ordered to carry unpaid work for 80 hours. He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 23 months and fined £290.00.
