GUS Hales held his Captain’s Day competition at Harwich and Dovercourt Golf Club.
There were a total of 78 golfers taking part in glorious conditions.
The longest drive for the low handicap was won by Jordan Slater, longest drive for the high handicap was won by Marcus Hawkins.
The nearest the pin competition was won by Neil Blackburn.
There were three players who scored a very creditable 41 points.
After the calculations were done, it emerged that Jeff Woodgate was the winner on countback from Peter Reece, with Charlie Dennis third.
Ann Meyers won the Ladies prize with 32 points.
Lee Squires and his team of greenkeepers were thanked and congratulated on preparing an excellent course for the competition.

The junior section held their annual Junior Captain’s Day, where the field competed for prizes and trophies over 18 and 36 holes.
