DOVERCOURT'S ladies have brought the curtain down on their league campaign.

It proved a difficult end to the season, with games curtailed to ten ends, cancelled and rearranged due to heavy rainfall.

The B team were well beaten by Brightlingsea B and lost again at Kirby before enjoying a great win against Holland-on-Sea.

Dovercourt's A team had a 39-21 win against Happy Valley B and then, in their final league game, they won 43-28 against Frinton.

The final league tables show Dovercourt B in eighth position in division two and the A team fifth in division one.

The Tendring Hundred League finals proved successful for Dovercourt's ladies.

The triple of Christine Griggs, Pam Bloom and Val Green won through four rounds, beating two teams from Holland-on-Sea and two from Happy Valley.

In the final, they played another team from Happy Valley and won very well - becoming this year's champions.

In the Tendring fours competition, Christine Griggs, Carol Sutton, Pam Bloom and Val Green beat teams from Frinton, Clacton and Holland-on-Sea to play in the final against a team from Brightlingsea.

They also won this to become double champions.
