HARWICH AND PARKESTON stretched their incredible winning run to ten matches after a dramatic 2-1 success at BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES.

The pair met in a Thurlow Nunn League first division south contest on Friday night and it was the on-song Shrimpers who had the edge, grabbing a late winner through Tyler Rose.

The substitute netted in the dying embers of the game to make it a perfect ten for Kieron Shelley’s side, continuing a winning run that started way back on October 20.

The Tendring team took the lead in the first half thanks to Elliot Johnson.

However, their chances suffered a dent soon after following a straight red card for Nicky Palmer.

Braintree equalised from long-range after the break but Rose stepped off the bench and scored his side’s winner in the 89th minute.

“It’s a fantastic achievement,” said delighted assistant manager Mike Wallace.

“To be down to ten men for an hour and still win felt amazing, especially scoring so late on.

“It was a very tough game.

“Braintree worked hard and produced a very dogged performance.

“But we’re on a roll at the moment and we couldn’t be happier with the lads.

“To win ten games in a row is an outstanding achievement from the whole squad.”

Boss Shelley added: “It was a top-drawer performance against a decent Braintree team.

“The boys really showed their character.”

Harwich remain fourth in the table but closed the gap on leading trio Hashtag United, White Ensign and Halstead Town, heading into Saturday’s matches.
