STANWAY Rovers manager Danny Slatter has been busy with his summer recruitment.

The Hawthorns side have confirmed that Craig Hughes, Jake Plane and Tom Holdstock will be joining them next season.

Experienced first-team coach Adam Munn is also coming on board as part of Slatter’s backroom staff.

Slatter, who took over from Terry Spillane at the end of last season, is wasting no time in stamping his mark at The Hawthorns.

“I’m really pleased with the players we've managed to get through the door,” he said.

“We were desperate for some experience through the spine of the team.

"We ended last season with a young team and the experience of Craig and Jake coming back to the club is really important for those young guys to learn from.

“Jake can score goals and Craig brings strength and a voice to be heard across the team."

Plane returns to The Hawthorns from Brantham Athletic, having previous been at FC Clacton.

Popular midfield general Hughes has also agreed to join from Brantham.

Slatter knows what the duo can offer his team, having played alongside them during his playing days at Stanway.

Slatter has also moved quickly to secure the services of striker Holdstock.

Holdstock arrives back to the area after spells with Clacton and Holland FC respectively.

“We know what Tom can bring to the team and we're really happy to have him on board," said Slatter.

"He knows where the net is and gives us competition for places at the top end of the field."

Stanway’s early dealings are a signal of intent from their young manager, who is looking to instil confidence and a winning mentality right across the club.

Munn arrives as a first-team coach from Brightlingsea Regent Reserves and will be invaluable support during Slatter’s first season at the helm.

In addition, club captain Tyler Kemp has also agreed to stay with the club, who will spend next season back in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, as opposed to the Essex Senior League.

“Adam will be a real asset to me as we look to build the team for next season,” Slatter added.

“I’m also really pleased Tyler is staying with us after a good season.

"He’s come on so much and he’ll be here ready and raring to go next season.”

Slatter says he will now be working hard to bring more additions to the club.
