IT was a real family affair as father-and-son duo John and Tom Watkins played for Brantham Athletic in their 8-0 cruise against Capel Plough.
The sides met in a pre-season friendly at the Leisure Centre on Saturday.
Dad John is the Imps' reserve-team assistant manager and goalkeeping coach while son Tom, 16, is one of the club's rising stars, having been outstanding at under-18s level.
There were hat-tricks from Karl Andrade and Luke Barnard.
Brantham's other goals came after a penalty save by Christian Foxhall was buried on the rebound by Ed Nobbs and the impressive Jack Madley.
Manager Michael Brothers gave himself some time on the pitch in the first half and looks in good shape.
