STANWAY ROVERS were in scintillating form as they smashed five goals past Godmanchester Rovers.

Danny Slatter's men made it six wins from nine Thurlow Nunn League premier division matches after a ruthless display at The Hawthorns.

Jamie Shaw gave them an early lead and they doubled it midway through the first period, through Jordan Blackwell.

The striker tucked his shot into the bottom right-hand corner after great work by Jonathan Carver and Marley Andrews.

Jack Baker's brilliant long-range strike extended the lead just before half-time.

And there was time for one more in stoppage time, thanks to new-boy Curtis Haynes-Brown.

The former Colchester United youngster was making his debut after joining from Coggeshall Town.
