A FOOTBALL club’s chairman is offering businesses a helping hand as they come out of the Covid pandemic.

Derek Murr is offering firms the chance to advertise pitch side at Little Oakley FC’s War Memorial Ground free of charge.

The club hopes it will give support to nearby businesses as they recover from the impact of the Covid crisis.

The club is offering the free advertising for the forthcoming season as it moves into the highly-competitive Essex Senior League next season, the highest ever position achieved by the club.

Mr Murr said having contacted more than 200 businesses, large and small, he feels the uptake has been surprising slow.

He is now hoping residents in Harwich and surrounding towns take up the offer in the next couple of weeks so the club can get a large amount of boards installed before the new season starts in August.

People can supply their own boards to be fitted to their pitch’s perimeter spectator barrier or to the club’s 3G pitch’s cage. It will then be put up free of charge.
