HARWICH and Parkeston claimed a convincing 3-0 win over AFC Sudbury Reserves in Thurlow Nunn first division south, writes TERRY FRANCIS.
Jamie Eades bagged a hat-trick as the Shrimpers beat a young Sudbury team, to improve their chances of moving up the league table.
Harwich manager Sean Tynan and coach Daryl Eagle were absent due to Covid so assistant manager Gary Kioussis took the reigns.
He was delighted with the Shrimpers' second win on the bounce.
Harwich took the lead when Eades' shot rebounded and he followed up to net.
The hosts were dominant during the first half and their second goal was a beauty.
It was started by Alfie Smith whose deep cross struck from wide was deftly controlled by Eades, who finished with a shot of accuracy and power.
Harwich had not allowed Sudbury to settle and although the second half was more even, it was the Shrimpers who continued to create chances whereas the visitors were restricted by the sound home defence.
The Shrimpers' third goal also saw Eades complete a fine hat-trick when he bullet-headed Gareth Heath's accurate corner into the net.
Harwich entertain Frenford at the Royal Oak on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
The Shrimpers are also at home next Tuesday when they host Holland FC, kick-off 7.45pm.
