LITTLE Oakley booked a Isuza FA Vase first-round proper trip to Godmanchester Rovers after beating Park View on penalties, writes LARRY DOBKIN.

The Acorns prevailed 4-2 on penalties from their second-qualifying round tie at the Memorial Ground, after the tie had finished 1-1.

Little Oakley have had to draft in Sam Felgate to replace the injured Bedingfield in goal.

Wood continues to recover and makes the bench and Dan Rowe replaced Rodger, who was injured in the warm-up.

Oakley got off to a very bright start with half chances fulling to Rowe and Mann in the first three minutes.

With Oakley very much in the ascendency the ball was won by Johnson in midfield who found Mann skilfully protecting the ball while waiting for the run of Nobbs who attacked the goal, but his shot was deflected off for a corner.

Oakey took the lead when Rowe attacked Tutu and cut into the edge of the 18-yard area before firing off a stunning shot across the keeper and in.

Oakley continued to attack and James' shot beat the keeper but unfortunately for the hosts, hit the bar and went out for a goal-kick.

The final action of the half saw a flowing move from Oakley where the pacey winger Rowe played Mann beyond the Park View defence.

With the keeper closing down the angle, Mann accurately side-footed the ball past him only for the assistant referee to rule the effort offside.

An early second-half chance fell to Rowe whose shot was well saved by the keeper but Park View were starting to get more possession in midfield.

They mounted an attack and found Dju in space just out of the area but Felgate was equal to his dipping shot.

While Oakley enjoyed the bulk of possession, Park View looked like they could score at any time.

The Acorns became nervous and started to drop deep, allowing the visitors to get further into the tie.

With time almost up, Park View won a throw which was thrown to the edge of the six-yard box where Johnson was penalised for a push in the area.

A penalty was awarded and Sunkwah coolly placed the ball wide of Felgate to equalise.

Oakley thought they had earned a penalty when Rowe appeared to be bundled into the goal as he was about to head home.

But the referee waved played on and a penalty shoot-out ensued.

N Rowe, Mann, D Rowe and Johnson all scored for Oakley and although Dju and Boampong netted for Park View, Tre and Sunkwah both missed in the shoot-out, as the hosts prevailed.

Oakley's player of the match was Elliott Johnson, the playmaker and heartbeat of Oakley's midfield.
