Kyel Reid now looks unlikely to be heading back to Colchester United.

The winger, who is out of contract at Coventry City at the end of the season, made 19 league and cup appearances for the U’s while on loan from the Sky Blues earlier this season.

The 30-year-old has now completed his three-match ban, following his red card against Cheltenham Town earlier this month.

But Colchester are said to be looking at other targets, with Reid now interesting another unnamed club.

Reid is likely to leave Coventry on loan rather than on a permanent deal.

Colchester head coach John McGreal said last week that they are keen to add a winger to their squad, along with another attacking player, before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
