Colchester United ran out 3-0 winners over Cambridge United on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Sammie Szmodics, Frank Nouble and Courtney Senior gave the U's all three points at the JobServe Community Stadium.

The result sees Colchester move up to fourth in the League Two table, and John McGreal’s men travel to play Oldham Athletic, next weekend.

Made several good saves including a crucial stop to deny Ibehre just before Nouble netted.

RYAN JACKSON 7

Hardly put a foot wrong all afternoon and drove the U’s on from right-back.

U’s skipper led the side well on his return to the starting line-up following suspension.

FRANKIE KENT 8

Produced another impressive display and made several important blocks.

Was economical in possession and gave Cambridge little joy down the U’s left.

Was typically tenacious in midfield and almost scored for the third game running early on.

Took his goal very well and worked extremely hard for his side once again.

Provided assists for each of Colchester’s opening two goals and gave Cambridge defence a tough time.
