COLCHESTER United have revealed their new home shirt for next season.

The new shirt, which is now available to pre-order, has the club's famous eagle incorporated into the design.

And the club's revealing of the new shirt received plenty of positive reaction among U's fans, via social media.

Jason Butcher wrote 'Love it!! Miss the stripes but the kit this year has been decent so don’t see an issue...aside from ‘tradition’. Love that the eagle is on the shirt!'

And Sue Moles said: 'This looks more like our shirt should be' while Simon Wilding simply wrote 'Fantastic!!'

Luke Penning wrote: 'Liking the new Colchester United shirt. Interesting to see how they've encorporated (sic) the "Bird from their logo in the background. Miss the stripes though, obviously going on from their best seller last season'.

Anthony Clachan said 'Decent i like it' and Harvey wrote 'Class. Like the embossed logo over the blue'.

Steve Bracey said he would be snapping up a U's shirt for the first time in many years to boost the club's coffers, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

He wrote: 'Have ordered a shirt for the first time in many years, purely because of the club’s financial position due to Covid 19'.

However, there were some U's fans who were disappointed not to see the stripes return to the U's shirt, for next season.

Carl Harris wrote: 'Where’s the blue and white stripes' and Graeson Laitt said: 'Sales of blue and white stripes would easily outstrip that of the wrong shirt as people waited for their return. Not many plain blue in evidence last year!!'

Jonathan Brown said: 'Nope, sorry. Love the eagle but still a no from me' while Matthew Blaylock wrote: 'I miss stripes'.

Colchester's new home shirts are now available to pre order, with shirts due in stock at the end of the month.

Supporters can get their new shirt, which costs £45 for adults and £35 for children, delivered or available to Click and Collect.

U's fans can personalise their shirt with their preferred name and number on the back, with the price frozen at £10.
