COLCHESTER United were beaten 5-2 at Oldham Athletic, on Friday night.

The U's lie five points above the League Two relegation zone, with five games remaining.

Colchester fans have their say on a hugely disappointing night for their team, at Boundary Park.

Teddy Dwan

If Col U beat the drop, it won't be because we escaped, but because other teams just played even worse than us. Another uninspiring performance. 3-0 down before they started playing. Hard to watch.

Out played and out thought in the first half. How bad does it have to be to actually make a sub at halftime? Now relying on teams below us losing shows how dire it is. We have 120 minutes against Walsall and Southend to save our season.

Lizzie Hark

Just wish the players showed some fight.

Charlie Smith

I probably shouldn’t...

Jamie Hudson

No fight and no quality from the players, all season it’s been filled with talk and inspirational quotes but no proper striker and a destroyed defence from last season is clear to see

Danny

Games are running out 5 cup finals left to play!

WinterRBN

I thought the teams were pretty evenly matched until 2 snapshot moments swung momentum in Oldham's favour and led to the result. 1) A terrible challenge from a usually consistent Eastman for the penalty, and 2) a bad decision from the referee to give the free kick for the 2nd. The fightback was promising, and the last 2 goals look bad on paper but were simply the consequence of committing men forward. If Chilvers didn't fluff his cross in the passage of play immediately before their 4th,it might have been a different story

Tom Flint

If we stay up now I’ll be surprised. In patches we played well and created a few chances but at the end of the day none of it was good enough. At least we scored a couple of goals - that’s the only positive I can think of!! Let’s hope those around us slip up tomorrow! I really don’t think we played that badly to be honest. Before the goals we were looking the stronger side but the difference was that we don’t have a regular goal scorer and have struggled all season up front (although did finally get an away goal)

Anthony Clachan

1 win in 25 games poor subs poor tactics poor everything I'm just not confident anymore at all and it hurts

Jeff Coates

In theory the 2 games against Walsall and Southend could save us but I don't think this team have a win left in them. They look broken. A self inflicted disaster.

Matthew Tedder

Tonight has now fully convinced me that we are going down now. We look totally hopeless and we are sleep walking into relegation now

Katie Bridge

Forever the optimist; Walsall and Southend games are crucial but not sure where the goals are coming from. Chilvers looked constructive when he came on

Patrick Ward

The table doesn’t lie. We have looked poor most the season and the situation has been coming for a few years. Promoting a failed manager to director of football never made sense and no idea what Humes brings to the club. Problems start at the top and are dragging the club down.

Adam Kieran

Don't understand how people at the club accept this. Although we were over achieving, we were in the championship. How, how have we let it get like this, and why is it accepted from those in the club.

Chris Ruggles

I've been saying for weeks, that we must win a game sooner or later, but it just won't happen. Beat Walsall, and draw against Southend is probably enough, but it will go the wire.

Carl Harris

Wouldn’t be printable

adamwalkercufc

This club is an absolute disgrace we’ve gone from the championship to now looking like a team going into non league
