Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

This season's leading scorer Harriott spent nearly two seasons at Colchester, having initially joined them on loan from Charlton Athletic in the 2015-16 season.

The 27-year-old made 64 league and cup appearances for the U's in that time, scoring 12 times.

Brown made 62 league and cup appearances for Colchester, after joining them from Cambridge United in the summer of 2019.

The 26-year-old attacker scored 11 goals for the U's, all of them in this campaign.

Lapslie has struggled with injuries this season.

But the 25-year-old has been a committed performer for Colchester over the years, making more than 150 league and cup appearances for the club since progressing through the academy to make his senior debut at Cardiff City, in 2015.

Senior made nearly 150 league and cup appearances for the U's scoring 14 times after joining them from Brentford in the summer of 2016

Defender Sowunmi struggled for game time during his time at Colchester.

The 6ft 6in defender made 20 starts for the U's after joining them in the summer of 2019, from Yeovil Town.

Bohui came off the bench for Colchester's final two games of the season, scoring against Salford but has struggled for game time this season as have Cowan-Hall and Gambin, who finished the campaign on loan at Newport County.

Academy product Wright has suffered through injury over the last two seasons while goalkeeper Coulter will be hoping now to push on at another club, having had good experience at the U's under Darren Smith.

Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

Speaking at yesterday's press conference where he was unveiled as Colchester's new head coach, Hayden Mullins said they are busy planning for next season.

He said: “It’ll be a different group; everyone is aware of the number of players that have left the club and we want to recruit the right type.

“It’s given us the scope to do that and we’ve been speaking to a number of players already.

“There’s some fantastic characters and players and we want to build a really, really good group, not only for the football club but also for the young ones to learn from."
