FORMER Colchester United goalkeeper Sam Walker is looking for a new club this summer after being released by Reading.

The 29-year-old spent three years with the Championship club, making 14 league and cup appearances for them.

Walker had spells on loan at League One sides Blackpool and AFC Wimbledon this season.

The former Chelsea youngster made more than 200 appearances for Colchester.

The 6ft 6in shot-stopper became a firm favourite with Colchester fans, during his five-and-a-half years at the club.

Walker initially joined the U's on loan from Premier League giants Chelsea in January, 2013.

He joined the club on a permanent basis in January 2014 after two loan spells.

Walker battled back superbly from a serious knee injury sustained in Colchester’s EFL Cup tie against Reading in August 2015, which kept him out for nearly a year.
