TENDRING has been given top marks by visiting tourists according to a recent survey.
The survey was carried out by Tourism South East, and saw more than 403 visitors quizzed on their experience in Clacton, Walton and Harwich.
Of those asked, 86 per cent said their trip enjoyment was high or very high.
Participants also rated Tendring highly in terms of accommodation and value for money.
Tendring Council tourism boss Alan Goggin said: “There is no doubt there is still work to be done and we can definitely do better in some areas.
“However, the overriding message from this report is that we do have a good product and I am determined, along with the Council’s officers, to make it an even better one.
“We are all in this together and to benefit all. We are meeting and talking about what can be done and I am already working on a couple of ideas.
“One of the issues I was concerned about from the survey is that we need to look at access for those with disabilities and that is certainly on my agenda.”
Copies of the survey are available by contacting Louise Parkes at the council on 01255 686668.
