Not a lonely Christmas for residents at lunch

TRADITIONAL festive fare was enjoyed by a packed hall of guests who would otherwise be alone this Christmas time.

Christmas turkey with all the trimmings was served to 66 Manningtree, Mistley and Lawford residents on Wednesday, December 19.

So many people had come forward for the lunch at Mistley Church Hall, organisers worried they would have to turn people away.

The full house also enjoyed carol singing with tea, coffee and mince pies.

John Baker, who organised the event with his wife Joy said it was the biggest they have done.
