A FOOTPATH which was illegally built on is set to have tens of thousands of pounds spent on it.
The exact figure Tendring Council has ring fenced for The Hangings in Dovercourt has been revealed as £58,800.
The authority negotiated the amount with developer GVA Grimley which extended garden boundaries onto the footpath without permission.
Harwich Friends of the Earth campaigned to save The Hangings and successfully secured any money made to be spent on the footpath.
