Essex's new tourism boss is Harwich Haven Authority deputy chairman

A TOP maritime boss has been named chairman of tourism board Visit Essex.
George Kieffer, who is also deputy chairman of Harwich Haven Authority, was given the title after nearly a year as interim chairman.
Since he began in early 2012 Mr Kieffer has worked with the Visit Essex team to increase tourism to the county during the Olympic year and has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Essex County Council to secure its continued support.
