A COUNCIL has vowed to fight “tooth and nail” to protect maternity services in Harwich.
The town council is demanding NHS bosses answer their questions over plans to close a Harwich Maternity Unit.
The council will ask children’s and maternity chief Helen Kershaw to appear before them so they can put the plans under the microscope.
Speaking at a meeting on Wednesday, Ivan Henderson said: “We want to see someone from the clinical commissioning group come before this council so we can have a chance to scrutinise them. It is vital we have a chance.
