Chemical spill closes port road.
A SUSPECTED chemical spill closed the main road to Harwich International Port.
Police closed the entrance to the port, at Parkeston, after a chemical drum was found to be leaking.
However Essex Police now say they have re-opened the road after the drum was found to contain a non-hazardous substance
Fire crews from Dovercourt, Clacton and Colchester remain on scene and are preparing to remove the drum safely.
Ambulance crews are also on stand-by.
