A HOST of unsung heroes from across Tendring have been honoured.

The 21 recipients of the Pride of Tendring Awards – which was held for the first time two years ago - have been revealed.

Jamie Robinson was one of the recipients.

Jamie started his military career in 1977 when he joined the 2nd Battalion of the Scots Guards, aged 16.

He has been involved with the Royal British Region for a number of years and is the principal county recruiting officer as well as being involved in Legion activities at county, district and parish level.

He is the welfare case worker and secretary of the Clacton and District branch and worked tirelessly to set up a Manningtree and District branch, which he chairs, after moving to Mistley.

Jamie and wife Sharon give huge amounts of their time, fundraising all year round to help branches and clubs around the district.
