COMMUNITY crime fighters in Essex are being urged to help beat the burglars.
Crimestoppers has launched a campaign to get residents to speak out about burglaries and stolen goods.
Using social media, postcards through letterboxes and a touring ad-van the charity wants people to speak out and help catch the criminals.
Ann Scott, Eastern Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “People often ask me why someone would not contact the police if they knew about a burglary or someone handling stolen goods.
“Sometimes, the offer of a reward can bring someone forward, but generally it’s the sense of wanting to make their community safer without having to reveal their identity.”
The campaign has been funded by police and crime commissioner Nick Alston.
