Ruthie Henshall brings her latest show home
10:00am Wednesday 12th February 2014 in News
NEVER forget where you come from.
West End superstar Ruthie Henshall hasn’t, which is why out of all of the dates on the latest leg of her UK tour, she is most looking forward to returning to Clacton.
“That’s where it all began,” she said. “I was 19 and that was my very first job, but I’m sorry to say I’ve never been back since.”
Which is a little surprising since, for the last few years, she has lived just up the road in Manningtree.
“After that, I kind of got propelled into the West End,” she continued. “Then, when I finally came back to the area to bring up my children, I just never got around to it."
An Intimate Evening With Ruthie Henshall will be at Clacton’s West Cliff Theatre on February 16..
“The freedom of doing a show like this is huge,” she said. “I’m used to someone giving me a script, telling me what to do with it and then playing the part. With this, I get to choose the songs and talk about them.”
Starting at 7.30pm, tickets are £21.50 from 01255 433344.
