OAK trees brought down in bad weather have been donated to a major project to build a historic ship replica.
A number of trees from Furze Hill Woods, in Mistley, have blown down and others felled after strong winds at the start of this year.
The Mayflower Project team will now assess the trees before deciding if they can be used on the life-size replica of the Mayflower ship, which sailed to America in 1620.
Ian Rose, Mistley Parish Councillor, said: βIt is nice to think Mistley wood is being used in the build.β
