TOWN leaders have put Harwich’s tourism potential firmly on the map as part of a county-wide drive to get more people visiting Essex.
Harwich Town Council and the Harwich Society joined together to promote the town at Essex County Council’s Visit Essex Tourism and Leisure Show.
More than 150 people visited the Harwich stand keeping Society volunteers Colin and Aileen Farnell and David and Jacky Whittle busy throughout the day.
Mr Farnell, who is Harwich Society chairman, said: “It was a remarkably successful day and I am sure it will result in additional footfall for Harwich’s tourist attractions.”
