HUNDREDS of struggling families have needed extra help in Harwich.
Winter Warmers opened up on February 10 in Tendring Council’s Waddesdon Road offices.
Set up by the council and the Citizens Advice Bureau, the scheme provides clothes, shoes and bedding for families on benefits and low incomes - was due to run for two weeks and then close on Friday.
But due to high need in the town it was extended until at least the end of the month - it has already helped more than 300 people already.
