A TOWN centre shop has raised more tha £300 for a historic cinema.

The Original Factory Shop, in Kingsway, Dovercourt, has been fundraising for the the Electric Palace Trust as part of its Make a Difference in Your Community charity campaign.

Staff and shoppers raised the cash for the Harwich cinema by taking part in a range of activities, including fancy dress, community raffles and sponsored events.

Store manager Matthew Newell said: “The store staff have all worked hard to raise this money for the Electric Palace Trust, and as it’s such a deserving cause, everyone in the town has been right behind us."

In the past four years of the campaign the shop has raised more than £3,000 for local projects and charities.
