MILLIONS of pounds of funding for jobs and industry could still be spent in Harwich despite a business going into administration.
The South East Local Enterprise Partnership awarded the £2.23million Growing Places Fund loan to AJ Woods for use in the offshore renewable industry in December 2012.
Tendring Council has now put the land at Gas House Quay out to tender and any prospective tennant could take on the funding.
Council leader Mick Page said: “We have managed to keep the money there and if someone else comes forward there would be a number of conditions and they would have to be successful before they get the money."
