Half term fun in store for kids next week

LEISURE centres in Harwich and Manningtree are gearing up for half term with a range of activities.

Manningtree Sports Centre will be offering wall-climbing, dodgeball, roller disco and bouncy castle fun throughout the week while Dovercourt swimming pool will have aqua zone and waterwalkerz along with public sessions between May 24 and June 1.

Sports including football, cricket, archery, gymnastics, mini-tennis, racket sports and rounders will be available at various sites.

Local disability charity Papworth Trust will also be running a holiday club for young people with additional needs in Manningtree.

Called Fun United, the holiday clubs give disabled young people aged 8-19 years the opportunity to make new friends and have fun.

It will be held at Venture Centre 2000 in Lawford between 10am-3pm on Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 May.

Activities will include cooking, urban art, dancing, Wii games, and sport.
