A NEW community noticeboard has been put up in Harwich to help promote town events, organisations and societies.

The initiative is a joint venture between Harwich Town Council and Tendring Council.

Two benches have also been installed near the noticeboard, in Main Road, close to the junction of Wellington Road, and near to the railway station.

The solid oak noticeboard and one of the benches was paid for by the Town Council while Tendring Council paid for the other bench.

Harwich Mayor Alan Todd said he is delighted with what has been provided to benefit the town and its residents.

“This is something that has been needed for some time and we have often been asked for the facility,” he said.
