A PLAQUE has been unveiled to officially open a revamped leisure facility.
Tendring Council chairman Val Guglielmi led the ceremony at Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles, which has undergone a £900,000 refurbishment.
Doors had officially opened last week, but this was Mrs Gugliemli’s first visit since then.
After a tour of the building, she said: “It is now a fantastic first-class facility and a great improvement on what was there before – I am sure it will give a great many people a lot of pleasure and enjoyment.
“I am delighted to see the new changing village, as well as the ground-floor fitness suite which provides equal access for everyone to use.”
Improvements to the site were first mooted in 2009, but suffered delays due to funding.
