I WAS a little apprehensive when I was sent to try out Mistley’s Trim Trail.
Admittedly, I volunteered to take on the task, but I am not what you would call a fitness fanatic.
I get flashbacks of being in high school and having to run cross country or take the bleep test.
But the Trim Trail has won rave reviews with people even including it as part of their fitness regimes, and it certainly puts you through your paces.
The trail on Mistley’s Furze Hill has ten different obstacles for people to try out across the 430m course.
They include balance beams, parallel bars and leap frog.
It has been funded by the Three Parishes Trust, National Lottery and Essex County Council’s Big Society Fund.
Mistley parish councillor Charlotte Howell, who spearheaded the project, said: “The idea came about because of this drive to have an Olympic legacy.
“We wanted to have something that everybody–young and old – could use. We wanted to have something that was free of charge so everybody could take advantage of it.
