PLANS to turn office space in Dovercourt into two flats has been given the go-ahead.
Tendring Council has approved the retrospective application for the flats in High Street.
The flats are on the first and second floor of the property and sit above the town’s Job Centre.
The planning permission states: “The proposal will result in the loss of employment floor space. However, in this instance this is outweighed by other factors.”
Planning officers said the proposal would provide additional residential units at a time when the council does not have a five year supply of land and many buildings in the area had residential uses on the first and second floors.
