UNSUNG heroes have been honoured for their unwavering community spirit.

Tendring Council held a glittering ceremony on Friday to mark the work of 34 residents.

The annual Pride of Tendring Awards saw almost 200 people packed into Clacton’s Princes Theatre, with recipients representing a wide range of organisations and charities across the district.

The awards are sponsored by Dong Energy, Tesco, Bespoke Catering, Robert Wong Photography, the Harwich Mayflower Project and supported by the Clacton, Frinton and Walton Gazette, and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.

Entertainment came from Youth Theatre Performerz, singer Maria Lara, and the Four Saxes.
