A HAVE-A-GO hero sprinted down his road after a suspected thief in the early hours of the morning...while wearing “just a pair of pants”.
John Tiniakos, of Oakley Road, Dovercourt, raced after the man when his wife heard noise outside their home on Tuesday at 3.30am.
The couple were being extra vigilant after Mr Tiniakos, 51, had his van broken into two weeks ago.
A man in Oakley Road at the time saw Mr Tiniakos and then ran off.
“I managed to catch him after not too far–about 30 yards,” he said. “I was barefoot and just in my boxer shorts and a shirt.”
- A 23-year-old man from Harwich was arrested by police following reports of an attempted theft from a car in Oakley Road, Dovercourt, on Tuesday at 3.50am. He has been released bail until April 30 pending further inquiries.
