A POPULAR Jazz band will be returning to the Electric Palace with a new programme.
On Thursday at 8pm, the Hugh Rainey Jazz Band will be in Harwich to perform another great session packed with passion and enthusiasm.
Hugh, one of Britain’s great jazzmen, has played several times in Harwich over the past decade, bringing themed sets of Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet and Duke Ellington.
This event, entitled the Golden Days, features a line-up of top Essex musicians.
Players include Hugh on trumpet, Dave Browning on piano, Goff Dubber on clarinet, Johnny Baker on drums and vocals, Les Handscombe on trombone, Brian Hart on sax and clarinet, Ollie Benson on guitar and banjo and Derek Pring on string bass and tuba.
