A TRIO of traffic problems causing havoc in a town’s High Street need to be tackled, councillors have urged.

Concerns have been raised that faded white lines are meaning drivers are flouting parking restrictions, zebra crossing markings are “barely visible” and a bid for yellow lines to be extended has not progressed.

The issues were raised at a meeting of Manningtree Town Council last Thursday.

Mayor Mark Morsley is concerned white lines just passed the parking spaces in High Street have faded, meaning drivers are stopping on them.

“The white lines there have almost disappeared,” he said. “Who is responsible for painting that?”

Deputy mayor Lee Lay Flurrie also raised concerns about the zebra crossing ion High Street.

She said the crossing needed to be repainted.
