HARWICH and District Indoor Bowls Club entertained Capel St Mary.
It proved a closely-fought, competitive and enjoyable game, which the home side eventually won by the narrowest of margings, 101-98.
Harwich won three and drew one of the six rinks, with the winning rinks skipped by Steve Humphrey, George Berry and Sandy Mooney.
The latter also achieved the best result of the afternoon, winning 21-8, ably assisted by Jim Wycroft and Charlie Furtado.
Meanwhile, Harwich also played hosts to Colchester (Ardleigh).
It proved a friendly and enjoyable encounter, which the home side won 132-70.
The home side won five of the six rinks, with the winning rinks skipped by Steve Humphrey, George Gilmore, Edith Butcher, Carol Harrington and Roy Petts.
Petts also achieved the best result of the afternoon, winning 32-6 alongside Carol Harrington and Derek Taylor.
