A PROPERTY manager’s video of a massive wave soaking her partner at Dovercourt beach has gone viral - with almost 30,000 people viewing it in less than 24 hours.

Tiffany Margetson, 31, of Sparrows Corner, Great Oakley, recorded her partner Tony Woods at the sea wall in Dovercourt as strong winds and waves battered the coast on Wednesday morning.

But she also captured the moment a huge wave soaked him.

Mr Woods uploaded the video to his facebook page - and almost 30,000 people had viewed it by yesterday morning.

“It was uploaded at about 2pm on Wednesday and by 11am on Thursday it already had 28,000 views,” said Tiffany.

“I’m really amazed. We only put it up there to show close family and friends what it was like on the beach.

“I was on my way to lunch from work and was driving along the top when we spotted the waves.”

The video shows a number of large waves hitting the sea wall close to Wick Lane.

But then one strikes the sea wall close to the couple, soaking Mr Woods and sending the pair running for the cover of nearby beach huts.

Tiffany added: “My children are just impressed that it went viral - they think I’m some sort of hero.

“It certainly put Harwich on the map for 24 hours - 30,000 people is greater than the population of Harwich.

“The weather was really bad, but I went down there again on Thursday and it was like a mill pond."
