POLICE are appealing for witnesses following two linked burglaries in Harwich.

Someone broke into a property on Main Road sometime between 5.30am and 6.30pm on Tuesday, August 16.

The burglar got in by breaking a window at the back of the house.

A messy search took place and a number of electronic items, including a Kindle, were taken.

On the same day, a nearby home on the same road was also broken into and jewellery was taken.

Dc Richard English said: "It is clear that due to the location, time frame and method used in the operation of both burglaries that they are linked.

"It is also believed these offences both took place in the late morning.

"I would urge residents and home owners to ensure their doors and windows are properly secured”.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dc Richard English from Clacton CID on 101.
