NEW street food, farm animals and extreme balancing show at one of Tendring’s biggest events of the year.

The Tendring Show takes place the day before the World Cup Final this year on Saturday.

With art, education, food, shows and displays as well as a chance to see a range of animals up close and big farm machinery there is plenty of variety.

Tom Glover, event spokesman, said: “It’s a great opportunity to get out with the family for the day.

“We have new things to do and see on the showground.

“You can try your hand at a new extreme balancing sport, explore our new theme area, and meet the animals from Hasty’s Adventure Farm.”

He added: “Our food hall is just one area of the show that continues to go from strength and has a new street food area.

“The area’s steward, Jemma Rix, will also be at the show with Lauren Woodwiss to show off their boat before they attempt a record-breaking row across the Atlantic for charity later this year.

“The Tendring Show is a charity and we rely on the support of the local community as well as the time and unceasing efforts of a huge team of volunteers.

“It’s a lot of hard work for one day, but at the same time, we think this is what makes the event so special.”

There will be an art show and lifestyle area with the chance to buy anything from bespoke furniture, fabrics and rugs to designer clothes, and a “bigger and better” food pavilion with new street food area and new look chef demonstration area.

An education and outdoor activity area will have more than 30 schools and institutions, alongside about 200 trade stands.

Tickets on the gate are £17 for adults, with children at £5 and seniors at £16.

Gates at the showground, at Lawford House Park in Lawford, open at 8am.
