A CADET group is recruiting young people to learn valuable life skills in a fun and social setting.
Dovercourt Army Cadets is looking for youngsters aged 12-18 to join its group and enjoy a wide range of activities including rock climbing, football and camping.
A spokeswoman for the cadets said: “All the activities are heavily subsidised and the weekly cost is currently £1, plus money for snacks and drinks.
“There are only a handful of cadets at the moment so this is a great opportunity for young people.”
As part of the Dovercourt Army Cadets, members will be able to pursue the Army Proficiency Certificate.
Essex is home to more than 900 cadets and 200 adult volunteers across 32 detachments.
As well as Dovercourt, there are detachments in Clacton, Manningtree, Colchester and other spots across the county.
Volunteers are always welcome to help out the youngsters and earn a range of respected vocational qualifications of real value in the workplace.
Adult volunteers can try out different activities before finding a specialised area.
Cadet nights are on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm in the Cadet Centre in Barrack Lane, for more information visit bit.ly/3WXDau1.
