PLANS are underway for the final Groovy Arts Club night of the year in Manningtree.

Taking place at the Red Lion in South Street, it will run from 7.30pm to 11pm on December 2.

Starting the live music event will be Handbags and Gladrags.

Formerly a trio, the group now includes drummer Eddie Edwards and will perform both original songs and choice covers.

Following them will be Mel and Marcel, otherwise known as Melanie Winning and Marcel McClarnon of Manningtree and Man In Tree Records.

They have recently released their songs on USB sticks, which are available at Winyl shop in South Street.

Closing the evening will be the Groovy Arts Club Band.

The group includes Mark Hull on guitar, Marcel McClarnon on bass, Eddie Edwards on drums and David Stephenson on lead vocals and harmonica.

They will celebrate 1960s and 1970s art and music with their original songs plus a few appropriately-chosen covers.

Tickets cost £10.
