AN INTREPID hiker who is walking the entire coastline of Britain in aid of charity stayed overnight in Parkeston before carrying on his adventure.
Nathaniel Severs began his journey in his home town of Portsmouth in January, and is now close to completing his 7,000 mile trip.
The 24-year-old decided to take on the challenge after not finding the job that he wanted, and is raising money for the Stroke Association, the Mammal Society, and the paediatric department at Southampton Hospital.
He finished his 276th day on the road, October 12, by entering Essex and made it to Parkeston before it became to dark to walk anymore.
“I’ve been making a lot of progress in Suffolk and now in Essex because all the promenades make it easy to walk along,” said Nat.
“All of the rivers and estuaries have added a lot of distance to the route though, and that’s not going to go away any time soon.”
After his overnight stop at the northern tip of the county, Nat walked around the creeks and the Walton backwaters before making it to St Osyth on the next day.
