AN ADVERT describing a village as boring is causing a stir with residents.
The sign on A137 road in Lawford taking drivers from Essex to Suffolk is telling motorists they are ‘now leaving Dullsville’.
The Renault promotion for its new Twingo car sits next to Manningtree Rail Station, a popular commuter route to London.
It is driving residents round the bend.
Alan Coley, chairman of Lawford Parish Council, said the area was far from unexciting.
But makers Renault won’t be slamming the breaks on its campaign any time soon.
A spokesperson for the car manufacturer said: “The 'Dullsville' reference is a cheeky jab at the world, that the new Twingo is bringing some much needed fun and joie de vivre into our lives.
“The poster campaign is national. Please be assured that it is not specific to any one town or place.”
