Border staff based in Harwich are facing a restructuring after the government announced plans to split the UK Border Agency.
The organisation will be split into two after hundreds of thousands of people were let into the country without the appropriate checks.
Home Secretary Theresa May told MPs on Monday, February 20 the UK Border Force will be split from the UK Border Agency from March 1.
She also announced the creation of a new National Crime Agency, responsible for improving border intelligence and investigating serious and organised border crime.
